Today, let’s rewrite a famous poem.
Pear Tree by Hilda. Doolittle
Silver dust
Golden Crust
spread on ground
all approachable under my feet
you have lain
O Golden Crust
all approachable under my feet
what more do you have beneath?
all plants colored grow
tenderly broken by a blow
no leaves ever in white show
though all from golden crust glow
O Golden Crust
your stone gems
studded embedded in black
bring winter fire hotly back
with warm ashy stems.
